Fenton Canada Bears

These are some mini bears we had made in 2010 for all of our Canadian friends. 🙂 They are Fenton’s 5251 mold, about 2 3/4 inches tall. Factory painted.  Only 29 of these were made. They are light brown with a Canadian Maple Leaf painted on their head. “Exclusively for Collectors’ Showcase” is on the bottom of each one. Really cute!

These bears are now available on our web site.

We just received the latest Collectors’ Showcase Exclusive from Fenton! It’s a 4 inch lavender satin egg, hand painted at the factory by JK Spindler with a lovely purple floral and butterfly design. Only 147 of these were made.

Displays beautifully with this special order bird from 2010.

Both pieces are available for sale on our web site.

Summer Is Here!

Filed under: Personal Info,Uncategorized — by collectorsshowcase @ 10:51 pm

Summer has definitely arrived here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! It has been unusually warm for us Washingtonians. While the sun shining through the many windows in our shop makes a gorgeous sight, the old building we’re in has no air conditioning, and being on the 3rd floor surrounded by windows, it gets awfully hot in there. So I wanted to warn everyone that we’ve been having to close early when the sun’s out. And if you’re making a special trip, please call first to make sure someone will be there. Our number is 360-568-1339.
Have a fantastic weekend! Happy Summer! 🙂

What Interests You?

Filed under: Uncategorized — by collectorsshowcase @ 12:53 pm

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous Independence Day! 🙂
We had our annual family reunion, and then finished off the John Adams mini-series we’ve been watching in honor of the occasion. What a beautiful day!
So my question for you today is this:
What kinds of things are interesting to you to read about? What would you like me to write about here? What would you guys like to see discussed?
Thanks for your input, and have a wonderful weekend!
P.S. Watch soon for the announcement of where you can go to take part in an online discussion about the magic of cameo glass with Kelsey Murphy and Robert Bomkamp!!

Greetings From Salem, Oregon!

Hey Everybody!
We’re in Salem, Oregon at the PNWFA convention, and are having a blast!
We heard Kelsey Murphy speak today about the magic that is cameo glass, and are looking forward to hearing her speak about the present and future of this amazing art form tomorrow evening at the banquet.
We tried to videotape her speech today, and will try to do tomorrow’s, also. (I say try, as I borrowed my brother’s video camera, and had never used it before. 😉 Hopefully, it’ll turn out!)
It was an awesome speech, with amazing information. So much information, that I’ve decided to have a weekly blog series called “Notes From Kelsey”, where I can pass some of this fascinating stuff on to you.
I’m also excited to have finally met a long time online friend of mine, Terry Joley, and her family. Terry is co-founder of the Fenton Dollers of America, a club for collectors of Fenton’s bridesmaid dolls.
She is just as sweet as I knew she would be, and has such a nice family! 🙂 It’s so fun to meet people I’ve known online and over the phone, but never met.
And of course, it’s always wonderful to have the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, too!
Stay tuned!!

Fenton Books

Filed under: Uncategorized — by collectorsshowcase @ 6:40 pm

I’ve added a section on the right for links to some Fenton books. Most of them are on (If you click on the links, you will be taken to the page on Amazon.)
While all of these books are fantastic, I’d like to give a special plug to Fenton Art Glass – A Centennial of Glass Making 1907-2007 by Debbie and Randy Coe, as many of our pieces are featured in that book. 😉
I’d also like to give a special plug to Fenton Glass Made for Other Companies 1970-2005: Identification & Value Guide by Carrie and Gerald Domitz, as it features 10 pages about our Collectors’ Showcase exclusive Fenton pieces. And, well, since it’s my blog, I can do that. 😉
If I’ve missed any great books that you know of, please let me know in the comments section below, and I will try to add them.
Have a great week, everyone!

First Day of Spring!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by collectorsshowcase @ 12:49 pm

Happy first day of Spring, everyone! 🙂
I hope it looks more like Spring where you are than it does here. It has been pouring rain all day, and there is snow in the forecast this weekend.
But it’s OK, because at least we know it’s on its way! Yay!
I hope you all have the best weekend ever!!
